CoreLogic says in their Home Price Index Report that six states reached new home price highs in September.  However home prices, including distressed sales, increased 5.6 percent in September 2014 compared to September 2013.  September marks the 31st consecutive month of year-over-year home price gains. Excluding distressed sales, home prices increased by 5.2 percent year over year in September. And despite modest gains in September, home prices nationwide remain 12.6 percent below their peak, which was set in April 2006. Home prices, excluding distressed sales, were still 8.6 percent below the peak. Distressed sales are composed of short sales and real estate owned (REO) transactions.

New Mexico did not fare as well with home prices, including distressed sales,  still 17.7 percent off-peak; and home prices, excluding distressed sales, still 14.2 percent off-peak.
