Legendary reggae artist Bob Marley’s widow, Rita Marley, recently listed her Nassau, Bahamas home. The couple were married in 1966 and spent about 15 years together before his untimely death in 1981. Nicknamed “La Randa,” the two lived in the home together for some time while they were married.
The 74-year old has listed the 3,900-square-foot property for $980,000. Aside from the couple’s history, the home has other historical significance. Built in 1920 by a famous rum runner during prohibition, there was once an underground tunnel that led from the sea directly to the basement of the home. Also, it’s one of just a handful of homes in the area that survived the Great Hurricane of 1929.
Features include a massive living/dining room area with a fireplace and hardwood floors, a large chef-style kitchen, oversized windows that provide copious amounts of natural light and views of the home’s gardens, as well as an expansive lawn, swimming pool and trellis-style pavilion.
Additionally, the home comes with a guest cottage and a two-year membership to the exclusive Palm Cay Beach Club.
Listed for: $980,000
